The Laboratory Safety Workshop (LSW) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to make health and safety an integral and important port of science education, work, and life. The organization provides training, publications, and audiovisual materials, and responds to requests for information. LSW has announced several training programs during 1997:
- June 23-26, San Marcos, TX: 17th National Lab Safety Training Conference for Secondary Schools
- July 14, San Diego, CA: One-day seminar at LS&EM '97
- July 30-August 2, Florence, SC: 8th National Lab Safety Training Conference for Colleges and Universities
- August 4, ChemEd '97: Minneapolis, MN
- September 6, American Chemical Society/American Institute of Chemists Meeting: Las Vegas, NV
LSW has also produced two lab safety training audiovisuals: The One-Day Lab Safety Audio Course (5.5
hours) and The Two-Day Lab Safety Video Short Course (eight 90-minute VHS cassettes). The organization's two
