Abstract
This demonstration is used to demonstrate that methane is flammable and lighter than air and that a relatively small amount of methane can produce a big flame and a large amount of heat. The objectives of are (i) to describe a novel method of inflating a balloon with methane, (ii) to show that methane is lighter than air, and (iii) to demonstrate the flammability of methane.
