In a letter by David Tudela and Vincente Fernández, "The Excited States of Molecular Oxygen" the configuration of the first excited state (94.72 kJ mol–1 above ground state) was published with an error. The correct configuration is:

KK (σ2s)2(σ2s*)2(σ2pz)2(π2px )2(π2py)2(π2px*)2(π2py*)0
