Abstract
The use of diphosphines such as bis(diphenylphosphine)ethane (dppe) or bis(diphenylphosphine)methane (dppm) with dithiolate gold(I) derivatives induces the isolation of dithiolate gold(I) complexes with two different structures and stoichiometries depending on the diphosphine: [Au2(μ-dppe)(1,2-S2C6H4)] and [Au4(μ–dppm)2(1,2-S2C6H4)2], respectively. Such structures and stoichiometries can be determined by NMR experiments, not only 1H NMR and 31P{1H} NMR, but also 1H{31P}NMR experiments.
