| If you have your own individual subscription subscribes to JCE and you are not part of an institution that subscribes to JCE with direct access to JCE Online (access based on IP numbers instead of name and password ), then you must supply a username and a password in order to be granted access. Usernames and passwords are found on the mailing labels of the Journal.
The username and password that you enter are taken from your mailing label. The mailing label is attached to the carrier sheet that is enclosed in the plastic wrapper with your Journal. A sample mailing label appears below.

The name that you enter is taken from the third line of the mailing label and is usually your name. In our example mailing label, the name is John Doe and appears circled in red in the figure below. Enter this information exactly as it appears on your mailing label into the Name field of the Enter Your Name and Password window. Please be sure that there are no periods in the name, even after initials.

The password that you enter is taken from the second line of the mailing label and is a five-digit number, which is your subscriber number. In our example mailing label, the password is 23456 and appears circled in red in the figure below. Enter this information as it appears on your mailing label into the Password field of the Enter Your Name and Password window.

Once you have entered the Name and Password exactly as they appear on your mailing label, click the OK button and you will be granted access to the restricted resource.
You will be asked to enter a name and password only once during each browser session. Once you have supplied a valid name and password, you should not be asked again during that browsing session.
If you are denied access after following these instructions, please email JCE Online. Be sure to include your name and password in the message.
